How can I tell if the library has the journal, volume and/or issue I need?

Answer

If you need to confirm whether we subscribe to a particular journal and/or whether our subscription contains the specific volume or issue you need, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://stfx.ca/library/.
  2. Choose the Journals tab above the search bar.
  3. Enter the name of the journal you need to locate (not the article title). Use the appropriate radial button if you aren't sure of the exact name.

  1. Search the list of results for the journal you need.  In this example, we are looking for The New England Journal of Medicine.

  1. Scan the print and/or electronic holdings and ensure the journal, volume and issue you need falls within the listed ranges.
  2. If you can't access an electronic journal we are supposed to have, please refer to this FAQ.
  3. If our print holdings or electronic subscriptions don't contain the journal, volume or issue required, then you can make a interlibrary lending request for article you need.
