What type of material is available in the StFX Archives?

Answer

The mandate of the University Archives is to collect and make available to users materials of all media pertaining to the history of StFX, its faculty, staff, and alumni. We have some material relating to the history of eastern Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada. The University Archives houses textual records such as:

  • Correspondence
  • Maps
  • Xaverian Annual
  • Meeting minutes
  • Drawings
  • Xaverian Weekly
  • Reports
  • Plans
  • Newsletters
  • Financial records
  • Faculty & staff publications
  • Brochures
  • Photographs
  • Academic calendars
  • Pamphlets
  • Audiovisual Material
  • Alumni News
  • Etc.

Approximately 80% percent of the collection relates to StFX and 20 % pertains to the personal lives of faculty, staff, or alumni. Please visit the University Archives website for more details and to search our database.
